Alternatively, you might like to trek in the vast Sahara Desert.  Most of the desert consists of hamadas – barren, wind-swept rocky plateau, and, less commonly ergs – picturesque sand dunes and oueds – rivers.  You might prefer a trek along the Atlantic coast that is 2800 kilometres long and is rougher and windier than the Mediterranean coast.  It takes in some wonderful surfing beaches as well as the famous cities of Tangier and Casablanca.
