Day 1 : Fes - arrival :

On arrival at Fes airport, meet and greet by your English speaking assistant and private transfer to your hotel in Ifrane in the Middle Atlas Mountains. Ifrane is situated at an altitude of 1650m , only 65 Kms south of Fes and just 1 hour drive from Fes airport. It’s an extremely fertile pastureland which is being often described as the “ Switzerland of Morocco “. Here the climate, the vegetation as well as the architecture could easily be mistaken for a village in the French Alps.

Day 2 : Fez

Step back into the Middle Ages to visit the largest living medieval medina-city of Fez El Bali, the cultural heart of Morocco. At its heart lies the Karaouine, one of the oldest still functioning universities in the world. Nextdoor is the Attarine Medersa (Koranic college), a jewel of Hispano-Moorish architecture,built in the 14 th. century. Among the highlights of Fes is the Nejjarine Square and its beautiful fountain with elaborate tile-work mosaics and the nearby Fondouq (Caravanserail), now converted to a museum of carpentry artefacts.
This afternoon, we visit Fez El Jedid (New Fez), built by the Merinid Dynasty in the 13th. century. Most notably, it is home to the Royal Palace and the Mellah, the old Jewish quarter,providing an interesting insight into the Jewish architecture. The medieval Medina is a UNESCO world heritage site. Return to Ifrane late afternoon.

Day 3 : Ifrane / Meknes / Volubilis / Ifrane

Today travel to Meknes, one of the Imperial capitals of Morocco where the impressive monuments recall the splendour of the city, built in the 17th century by the powerful sultan Moulay Ismail to rival the court of his contemporary Louis XIV of France. The monumental Bab Mansour gateway is one of the finest of the great gates of Morocco, among the king’s excesses. On to Volubilis, the site of the largest and most well preserved Roman ruins in Morocco with its Triumphal Arches, Basilicas and Capitols, typical of Roman buildings. The greatest treasures of Volubilis are the superb mosaic floors,excellently preserved and left in situ. Return to Ifrane late afternoon.

Day 4 : Ifrane / Middle Atlas lakes / Ifrane

This morning, take the southern road of the middle Atlas Mountains and cross Imouzzer, at an altitude of 1350m. This pleasant and beautiful region is inhabited by Berber people, the first inhabitants of Morocco, who still keep their own customs and language. From here you will be going to one of the several lakes of the Middle Atlas such as Dayet Awa, where you will enjoy beautiful scenery. Continue your drive across the Cedar forest and the Michlifen skiing resort to Azrou, a small Berber town where you will have a break before driving back to Ifrane.
The afternoon will be at leisure to relax or take advantage of the resort facilities, including a luxurious Spa, pool and fitness center.

Day 5 : Fes – departure

After breakfast,you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to Fes airport for your onward flight.
